CopeMaster: An interactive self-help book for iPad that will help you master the art of coping in good times and bad.

You naturally feel distressed when faced with life’s difficulties, even with ones that are relatively minor. Have you ever been in a situation that called for a quick response on your part and then later you felt that you could have handled it better? You handled it as well as you could at that moment by using the coping skills you were familiar with. You see, it’s not the events by themselves that cause such stress but it’s how you handle them that makes all the difference in the world.

When faced with a major crisis people usually feel shock, anger, grief, sadness, denial, fear, anxiety, and so on before moving on to acceptance and adjustment. These are all normal feelings in response to abnormal situations, but your well-being over time requires you to learn how to cope well and regain your sense of personal control.

You may use the material in the book in support groups, schools, churches, and community groups where the participants use their own examples of problems, thoughts, or goals to work on.

When doing your homework you can jump back to the chapter to find the answers! There is one self-evaluation question at the end of each chapter. Answer it quickly based on how you feel. You may be surprised by your response. You can e-mail your homework reports to yourself, a friend, a counsellor or healthcare provider. Doing so can help you stay motivated as you know that someone else is interested in how you are doing.

Once you generate a report, you will be awarded a key. Collect all 10 in order to unlock the hidden 11th chapter.
